WHEW!!!

Whew. It feels like labor is over. The 2008 tax season is now officially over. The season this year consisted of ....

early mornings and late nights,
mountains of paper,
reviewing returns online,
constant recalculating of numbers,
teasing requests to challenge my ethics
tax law research for the most unique circumstances,
frustration with clients,
constant reminders to be diplomatic,
getting to know new clients,
investing in them and sharing myself….
it is all over!

Now there is plenty to do… there are all the things I put on the back burner to wait until after the 15th. There are all the tax returns extended. Some returns are 99.9% completed. They can now go out. Some need substantial work.. they still need substantial work. There are financial statements that were waiting on the completed tax returns. There are new payrolls to setup. There are processes to evaluate. There are lunch meetings with investment advisors. There are new clients to sit down with.

Don’t forget.. it is time to touch good friends and work on that yard. The house needs to be picked up and groceries need to be bought. Spring has sprung and the whole spring cleaning thing needs to happen. There is a chair to fix in the garage and several projects to get going. Soap needs to be made and the garden thought out. AAACCCCHHHHHHHHH I want a vacation! DKU
